Tradition is passed down from father to son
Montenero was founded on the slopes of Etna, 750 meters above sea level, by the Bertino family. Initially owners of a medium-sized Nerello Mascalese vineyard, they decided to pursue viticulture: a choice particularly appreciated by their eldest son, who has passionately followed the family business for over a year.
The founder, Bertino Francesco (grandfather of the current heir), purchased the vineyard in 1955 for business purposes. After approximately five years of dedication and constant care, the vineyard began producing, allowing the start of commercialization. The idea proved successful and profitable, but due to limited interest in formalizing the venture, the company was never officially established.

From grandfather to grandson
Things changed with the arrival of his son, Bertino Vincenzo , who worked tirelessly to legalize the business. With determination, he managed to establish a structured, tax-compliant production system. He took over the vineyards, organized the documentation, and promoted the product, earning various awards and trademarks over time that further enhanced the prestige of his work.
This tradition has been continued, since 2018 , by his grandson Francesco Bertino , who, with a great passion for viticulture, has taken over the management of the company. His vision focuses on organic production, respecting nature and quality, with the goal of maximizing every aspect of the product.
